
(CNN) - It's the end of an era for the superstar singer Celine Dion and her husband Rene Angelil.
According to Yahoo News, Angelil stepping down as manager of his wife after more than 30 years.
"It is with great pleasure and with the utmost confidence that René Angelil announced today that his longtime friend, Aldo Giampaolo, has been appointed CEO of Feeling Productions Inc., the company that manages the careers of Celine Dion" a statement the company said.
"Celine and Rene have decided that the time of the successful completion of this appointment, René Aldo had proposed several years have come."
Angelil, 72, met Dion, 46, as a teenager, and the pair began a romantic relationship when she was 19 and he was 45. The singer briefly retired from performing in 1999, when her husband was fighting throat cancer.
People reported in March that Angelil had a tumor removed from his throat in December.
"I do not want Rene stressed with work-related issues," Dion said in a statement to the magazine. "I want to concentrate on getting back to 100%. I've been doing my shows at the Colosseum (Las Vegas) and everything is under control."
The couple, along with their three children, lives in Las Vegas, where Dion has been performing for three years.
